Since the dawn of manned flight there have been reports of disturbing encounters with unearthly, and as yet unidentified objects in the skies above our world. Startling run-ins with these anomalous aircraft have resulted in some of the most infamous casualties in aviation history — including the crash related death of USAF Captain Thomas Mantell, while in pursuit of a colossal UFO over Kentucky on January 7, 1948 — but a lesser known case that hails from Brazil indicates just how bloodcurdling a run-in with a mysterious, glowing orb can be… even for an earthbound human.
I think that, as a general rule, those of us interested in the study of UFOs and extraterrestrial (or inter-dimensional) visitations prefer to believe that the entities that appear to be traveling to our home world in a stunningly diverse array of mostly non-aerodynamic vehicles are (at best) concerned with our well being as a species and (at worst) interested in the human race from a purely scientific standpoint. After all, logic dictates that if aliens had it in for us; the human race would likely have long since been driven to extinction.
