Doomsday Seed Vault in Svalbard, Norway: "The Svalbard Global Seed Vault, also known as the Doomsday Vault, is located on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen near in the remote Arctic Svalbard archipelago, about 1,000 miles from the North Pole.
Opened in 2008, the seed vault was built to protect the world’s food supply in the event of a global crisis involving war, natural disasters, lack of funding or, interestingly, poor agricultural management. The vault contains more than 400,000 seed samples."
