Will robots soon take over the world?

Will robots soon take over the world? - ArtsLife - TheChronicleHerald.ca: "How long until human brains are surpassed by artificial intelligence or AI?

When will the most forward-thinking of humankind be outpaced intellectually and evolutionarily by that which it created?

One school of thought holds that technology will lead humankind to where AI developments will surpass known cognitive plateaus. This event, known as the 'technological singularity,' a term coined by science fiction author, futurist, and mathematician Vernor Vinge, will theoretically precede a point in time when super-intelligence will create more advanced intelligence.

Some think that a not-so-distant future of super-intelligence, espoused by futurists like Ray Kurzweil or Vinge, is utterly implausible, even lunacy."
