'28 ft Monster Alligator' Caught in Florida
The helicopter pilot and the game wardens on the ground were in communication via 2-way radios. Here is a transcript of their conversation.
'Air1, have you a visual on the gator, Over'
'Approaching inlet now, Over'
'Roger Air1'
'Gator sighted. Looks like it has a small animal in its mouth....moving in, over'
'Roger Air1'
'Oh Crap it's a Deer!'
'Confirm Air1.. Did you say Deer?, Over'
'Roger.........a Deer in it's mouth....looks like a full sized buck....that's a big gator, boys. We're gonna need more men, Over'
'Roger Air1.....can you give me a idea on size of animal, over'
'Its a big one.....25 feet at least, please advise, gator is heading to inlet....do I pursue?, over'
That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!
The deer was later found to be a mature Stag.
If you ski at the west end of the lake ---- try not to fall overboard.
This alligator was found between Lakeland and Winter Haven Florida near the house of Anita and Charlie Rogers, who could hear the beast bellowing in the night.
Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations.
'I didn't believe it,' Charles Rogers said, but after the alligator was killed, they realized the stories were, if anything, understated.
Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator. Joe Goff, a 6'5" tall game warden, shown below, walks past the 28-foot, 1-inch long alligator that he helped shoot and kill in the Rogers ' back yard.
LOL what a hoax! This has been going on for over 7 years now...

the alligator in the water with the deer is not a hoax, the 28 ft one IS a hoax. The 28 foot 'gator was bad photoshop. The biggest 'gator ever recorded was 19 feet 6 inches and shot in Louisiana in 1890. The biggest in recent years was about 15 feet.
ReplyDeleteThe only crocodilian reliably measured at over 28 feet was a 28 foot 4 inch Indo-pacific croc."
THE OTHER PROBLEM IS IT SAID A DEER IN HIS MOUTH GUESS WHAT THERE ARE NO DEER AROUND THAT LAKE I LIVE 3 MILES FROM THE LAKE
DeleteThere's probably no deer there because the alligator ate it. :)
DeleteThat's right!
DeleteIt wouldn't surprise me if that photo was taken a bit further South. A 15-foot gator with a key deer in its mouth easily looks about 30 feet long.
Delete...there aren't any deer there cause the gator ate them all :)

Hehe! thats funny these people are crazy!
DeleteIkr crazzy
Deletethe gator on the hoyst is not a hox it is real i was there and i saw it shot and hoysted to shore
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. Of course, I've seen the same statement made by a guy in Texas and another in Alabama, where that same photo has been used to represent "monster alligators" killed in those states. Sorry, you can't all be right and I strongly suspect none of you are.
DeleteLT
gatorland zoo had a 22ft in captive for years thats in fl.
ReplyDeleteThe largest alligator recorded was only 15 feet 3 inches, the largest crocodile was 33 feet. This picture is a fraud.I know my stuff so trust me.
ReplyDeletehoax this!! Florida has a lot of big ones too and don't forget the snake that ate the gator. A picture is worth a thousand words and you can find both online. So take your chances...
ReplyDeleteI am very experienced with reptiles I have studied well. There has never been any gator that has ever exeeded 19 feet. This picture is just a fraud. The largest croc was acurately measured at 28 feet and the largest gator 19 feet,so thereare huge diffrences.
ReplyDeleteCrocs are much stronger than gators.I watched a video of a gator and croc with a tomato in their mouths and the gator coulden't even dent it but the croc crushed it flat.(they were both babys)Adult crocs have a bite force of 3 tons per sq.in but the gator only 900 kilos per sq.in.
ReplyDeleteBy the way here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUVvvZaOOW4
Deleteit is enough to kill your dumbass is all that matters
DeleteU bums need to get laid. They need to feed u to the gators ..p.s. they found a 30 ft. Gator in the phillipine. Geniuses
ReplyDeleteTHERE ARE NO ALLIGATORS IN THE PHILLIPINES. THAT WAS ONLY A 20 FOOT ESTUARINE CROC NOT A GATOR. I KNOW MY STUFF WELL. BETTER RESEARCH BEFORE YOU POST SUCH IGNORANT COMMENTS.
DeleteI feed fish to my alligator not people and they never attack me even when i go in their cage!
DeleteYou people need to talk to some of the real old men that killed gators ilagley years ago they could tell you some storys. I have seen one in cherry lake Fl. from the shore line 1/2 way across there was a gator from the way he looked to be at least 15ft. or better
ReplyDeleteOh that is nothing great! 15 ft is the normal size!
DeleteThe photo's fake... Plain as day... The alligator should be casting a shadow... Where's the shadow??...
ReplyDeleteThis definately a hoax. Its head is OVERSIZED!
ReplyDeleteAlligator heads are only 1/12 of their body length.
Well that picture is definately real. look at the sunlight on the back of the man, it matches the sunlight on the gator. The shadow of the alligator should be a foot or two below the image and you can see the shadow of the strap that is wrapped around its tail and hooked to the truck.
ReplyDeleteIf you see an oversize gator don't tell anyone, somebody will kill it.
Fake!
ReplyDeleteNo talk about natural size limits or Photo shop necessary... If this was true! the national News media would be all over it! They are silent! Go figure! FAKE lol :)
Man that's my pet his name is reptar like from the rug rats he was my best friend . I can't believe somebody would kill him and lynch him like this . He never hurt anybody , he was a vegetarian
ReplyDeleteif it is a real gator why hasn't the local news played it I live in Sarasota and think I would heard something from the local news or the paper or something
ReplyDeleteI don't think a rubber tire combo would even lift a 28 ft gator. I think it would tip first, especially stretched out like that.
ReplyDeleteMeasure the man, then put it against the alligator!!
ReplyDeleteThis is no bigger than 18 foot. If it was 28 then the man would have to be 9ft tall.
oops meant 28ft as people have been saying!!!! Total RUBBISH
