The real-life tractor beam (but it won't be dragging spaceships quite yet)

The real-life tractor beam (but it won't be dragging spaceships quite yet) | Mail Online: "A real-life tractor beam has been developed by scientists for use in medical testing.

The starship enterprise from Star Trek uses it's tractor beam on a smaller spaceship. Scientists have unveiled a prototype of a tractor beam similar to the one's used in the hit Sci-Fi series.

Although light manipulation techniques have existed since the 1970s, researchers said this is the first time a light beam has been used to draw objects towards the light source, albeit at a microscopic level."
