The Spaceship Company, a joint-venture between Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites of Mojave, Calif., has opened the doors of a new facility to manufacture the suborbital ships and their carrier aircraft.
"Today marks another important step along the road to opening space for everyone," Branson said in a statement, adding that the new $8 million hangar is "the world’s first facility dedicated to producing private, commercial manned space vehicles."
