Somewhere over the rainbow... the heavenly Milky Way in all it's glory is pictured above a remote Argentinian mountain

It looks like a rainbow in heaven. This is the stunning picture of the Milky Way arching over a remote mountain in Azul, Argentina.

This amazing shot showing all the beauty of the cosmos was captured on camera last month by Argentinian photographer Luis Argerich, from Buenos Aires, as he toured the region hiking in the hills.

Luis, 42, said the sight was like seeing heaven on earth. He said: 'I thought I had to take a photo of the Milky Way. It's a very beautiful sight.

'I've never seen scenes like that in places with little or no light pollution, there's a huge difference in the sky quality between a city, a rural area and a place without light pollution.

'The Magellan Clouds and the Milky Way are clearly visible to the naked eye in remote locations of the south hemisphere but they get totally washed out from city lights.'
