The collective intelligence of our species, funneled into online networks, contains a frightening amount of personal information about virtually every living person, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping with social networking sites like Facebook. If anything, as more and more information become available to the growing body of technology already accessible to the web, the science fictionist deep within may begin to question at what point the net begins to function as an independent entity?"
